Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking an Outpatient Quality Reviewer to audit outpatient records and validate CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM coding for accuracy and compliance.

You will mentor staff, communicate changes, and support initiatives across Quality, Education, Denials, and Coding Operations in a remote setting. The role requires 7+ years of hospital outpatient coding experience and active RHIT/RHIA/COC/CCS-P/CCS certifications, with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of hospital outpatient coding experience including Ancillary, ED, Same Day Surgery, Observation, Wound Care, E/M Professional services, Interventional Cardiology and Interventional Radiology.
• Active certification(s): RHIT, RHIA, COC, CCS-P or CCS.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance by reviewing outpatient records and validating CPT®, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and APC codes.
• Serve as a trusted coding expert, providing audit feedback, coaching, and guidance to promote coding excellence and consistency.
• Analyze audit results to identify trends and opportunities for education, process improvement, and quality enhancement.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve coding issues and support revenue integrity initiatives.
• Stay current on CMS, AHA, AMA guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement through collaboration, training, and process optimization in a remote environment.
