Qualifications

• Graduate of an AHIMA accredited HIA or HIT program.
• AHIMA or AAPC approved credential(s): RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCA or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience coding ICD-10-CM & CPT-4 in an acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

• Codes, analyzes, and abstracts emergency room and outpatient surgery records.
• Ensures documents are indexed to the correct patient/encounter.
• Reviews assigned work queue(s) daily for timely processing.
