Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree required.
• Current certification in CPC/CCA/CCS/RHIT or related by AHIMA/AAPC.
• 5+ years of orthopedic surgery billing experience and strong coding/denials background.
• Must gather/analyze claims and medical records to inform decisions.
• Must have strong written communication and be able to draft payor appeals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct coding audits of submitted claims to determine code appropriateness.
• Review billing for accuracy and compliance with third-party carriers.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to investigate denials and support appeals.
• Utilize MS Office to prepare correspondence, charts, and analyses.
• Maintain knowledge of medical coding and market changes.
• Draft appeals to payors using CPT guidelines and industry sources.
• Perform other duties as required.
