Job summary

The American Heart Association seeks an Operations Manager, Government Grants to provide lifecycle operational support for government-funded projects. This full-time, home-based role reports to the National Government Funding Director and coordinates with PIs, finance, and program teams to manage budgets, expenditures, and reporting.

You will oversee compliance, cost transfers, and documentation, ensuring timely approvals and audit-ready files while supporting subrecipients and contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of financial systems, journal entries, and expense management.
• Understanding of OMB Uniform Guidance and NIH policies.
• Familiarity with federal grantors such as CDC, HRSA, and NIH
• Experience in project management in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Expense Review: ensure expenses and invoices are accurate, approved, and submitted promptly.
• Prior Approval Requests & Compliance: identify activities needing approval and coordinate with Finance, Legal, or OFP.
• Budget Planning and Monitoring: assist budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting to align resources with needs.
• Personnel and Compensation Documentation: review personnel allocations and effort-related materials with Finance, HR, and OFP.
• Subrecipient and Contractor Coordination: manage documentation and monitoring with contractors and subrecipients.
• Communication, Reporting, and Deliverable Tracking: draft responses and track milestones and reporting.
