Job summary

FedEx Freight in Kentucky seeks a disciplined supervisor to lead teams, ensuring shipments move on time and damage-free while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. You will plan daily manpower, coordinate with dispatch at multiple terminals, monitor loading techniques, and drive safety, cost reductions and service excellence across the facility.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of LTL, DOT rules, OSHA, NMFC and tariff rules preferred.
• Able to work in a remote location with initiative.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop company employees.
• Plan daily manpower to ensure on-time, damage-free delivery and pickup.
• Coordinate with dispatch at terminals and dock staff.
• Monitor dock loading techniques.
• Evaluate and reconfigure route structures and bids.
• Conduct safety meetings and facilitate quality groups.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and scheduling.
• Perform administrative duties such as printing receipts and billing freight bills.
• Maintain clean and safe facility and secure surroundings.
• Communicate with Account Managers to meet customer needs.
• Identify OS&D and ensure proper processing.
• Support Operations Supervisors and enforce company policy.
• Comply with laws, regulations and procedures.
