Job summary

The WisTech Open Librarian at CVTC supports OER initiatives across the Wisconsin Technical College System, researching and transposing content into Pressbooks, and ensuring copyright compliance. This role collaborates with editors, SMEs, and faculty developers to deliver OER projects and training.

Based anywhere in Wisconsin, the position may be remote with occasional in-person meetings. A CVTC remote-work policy applies if within the 11-county district.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience with open educational resources.
• Experience with copyright, writing, or publishing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development, accessibility, and dissemination of Open Educational Resources (OER) across WTCS.
• Research and curate existing OER/public domain content for faculty and SMEs.
• Transpose content into Pressbooks and ensure copyright compliance.
• Assign Creative Commons licenses to finished projects.
• Facilitate OER training courses for faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Collaborate with WTCS colleges to curate content and open licensing.
• Attend weekly team meetings and maintain presence in regional/state networks.
