Job summary

UC Berkeley Extension is seeking a part-time course developer to create professional continuing education online courses within the Editing pathway. All work is performed remotely from the United States, and visa sponsorship is not available at hire.

Collaborate with the Arts and Humanities team to design modules, learning objectives, media, and assessments for multiple topics. Start is August 2026; typical project durations are 4–6 months, with compensation of about $6,000 per course.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree required.
• 3+ years professional editing experience and 1+ year online teaching experience.
• Experience designing online courses and learning activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop a new asynchronous online course or refresh an existing one.
• Collaborate with the Academic Department on course design, roadmap and modules.
• Create learning objectives, syllabus, media plans and assessments.
• Produce scripts and PowerPoint slides for course media.
