Job summary

Adjuvant Behavioral Health is seeking an empathetic and experienced mental health professional to support cancer patients and families through remote counseling. The role emphasizes ongoing client care, treatment planning, and collaborative work with the care team.

The position begins as a 1099 contractor with a potential transition to a W2 role after 90 days, averaging 25 hours per week. A master’s degree and Virginia LPC license are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related field.
• Two years of professional level counseling experience.
• Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor license is required.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients individually or in family sessions to address dependencies and life adjustments.
• Refer to IOP if needed after 8 weeks of outpatient therapy.
• Guide clients to develop skills and strategies for problems.
• Develop and update treatment plans with SMART goals within 72 hours of intake and every 4 weeks.
• Complete and maintain required client paperwork and progress notes within specified timelines.
• Evaluate clients' conditions based on clinical information.
• Collaborate with staff to develop treatment plans within 2 days of care initiation.
• Refer patients to community resources or specialists as needed.
• Keep up with developments in counseling by reading literature and attending courses.
