Job summary

PRA Group seeks a litigation attorney to represent the company in state courts on consumer accounts and related matters. You will prepare pleadings, manage discovery materials and provide strategic legal guidance to PRA’s attorneys.

This remote role is for someone living in Ohio with a Juris Doctor and active Ohio bar status; 2+ years of related experience preferred. Strong research, writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Prior litigation experience preparing pleadings, discovery materials, and participating in trials.
• Familiarity with FDCPA, FCRA, TILA/RESPA and ECOA in consumer credit and collections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to research, read, analyze statutes, case law and regulations.
• Ability to provide well-researched, accurate and timely legal advice.
• Ability to develop, improve and standardize procedures.

Responsibilities

• Litigate on behalf of PRA Group in state courts where licensed to practice using case management software.
• Represent PRA Group and affiliates in courts of law, collect facts and evidence, try cases and perform litigation tasks.
• Prepare legal documents, develop strategies and argue with defendant, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Represent PRA Group at scheduling conferences, mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, hearings and trials.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of responsibility.
