Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of offshore platforms, risers, and subsea equipment.
• Develop and review engineering designs to meet standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical support for offshore construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for offshore projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including naval architects, geologists, and project managers.
• Prepare technical documentation including reports, specifications, and drawings.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Offshore Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to critical projects within the oil & gas industry . This position, based entirely remotely, will focus on the engineering aspects of offshore operations, including design, analysis, and support for offshore structures and subsea systems. You will work closely with global teams, leveraging advanced simulation tools and collaborative platforms to deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in structural or mechanical engineering as applied to offshore environments and thrive in a distributed work setting, contributing expertise from your home base in the East London area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of offshore platforms, risers, and subsea equipment.
• Develop and review engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical support for offshore construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for offshore projects.
• Collaborate with multidiscipli nary teams, including naval architects, geologists, and project managers.
• Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Utilize advanced software for structural modeling, FEA, and hydrodynamic analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in offshore engineering within the oil and gas industry .
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, SACS, Sesam).
• Strong understanding of offshore codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
• Experience with subsea systems or FPSO design is highly desirable.
