Job summary

Acteon is seeking a Senior Engineer in Houston to work on offshore energy projects, collaborating with experienced engineers, PMs, and clients to solve complex challenges across risers, pipelines, subsea systems, and installation operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Ocean Engineering.
• 5–10 years of offshore engineering experience.
• Experience in SURF projects.
• Familiarity with API, DNV, and ISO offshore design standards, preferred.
• Master's degree or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering analyses and design assessments for offshore pipeline, riser, and subsea projects
• Develop practical solutions to complex offshore challenges
• Perform production and drilling riser analysis
• Perform pipeline design including thermal expansion and buckling, pipeline walking and free span assessments
• Structural analysis of subsea hardware and foundations
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and design documentation
• Take responsibility for delivering assigned project scopes from initiation through final delivery
• Work closely with project managers to plan and execute engineering activities
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives
• Contribute to technical reviews and project decision‑making
• Opportunities for real world experience providing technical support during offshore installation
• Participate in client meetings and technical workshops
• Present engineering findings and recommendations

We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Houston team and contribute to some of the industry's most challenging offshore energy projects.

In this role, you'll work directly with experienced engineering specialists, project managers, and clients to solve complex offshore engineering problems involving risers, pipelines, subsea systems, and installation operations. You'll take ownership of technical work scopes, contribute to project delivery, and continue developing your expertise through hands‑on experience across a wide variety of projects.

This role is ideal for an engineer with 5-10 years of experience who is ready to take the next step in their career by gaining greater responsibility, client exposure, and project leadership opportunities.

Duties

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Ocean Engineering
• 5-10 years of relevant offshore engineering experience
• Experience in one or more of the following:
• SURF projects
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within project teams
• Experience using 1 or more software applications: OrcaFlex, ABAQUS, ANSYS, FLEXCOM, MATLAB, or Python
