Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking an OCR Developer for a remote opportunity to design, enhance, and support OCR and intelligent document processing solutions for diverse inputs in a regulated environment.

You will build extraction pipelines and apply image preprocessing to improve accuracy, collaborating with technical teams to ensure high-quality outputs. Requires 3+ years of OCR experience, strong Python skills, and hands-on use of OCR tools such as Tesseract, PaddleOCR, or Google Document AI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years building or supporting production OCR or document processing solutions.
• Hands-on experience with OCR tools (e.g., Tesseract, PaddleOCR, Google Document AI) and Python workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain OCR and intelligent document processing solutions across multiple document types and templates.
• Build and enhance document extraction pipelines for scans, mobile photos, PDFs, and other inputs.
• Implement image preprocessing techniques to improve OCR accuracy.
• Create automated image-quality assessments and decision workflows for routing documents.
