Job summary

Orano USA seeks a Licensing Specialist to support NRC licensing and regulatory compliance for a nuclear fuel cycle facility in Oak Ridge, TN. You will manage licensing basis, regulatory submittals, NRC interactions, and ensure adherence to 10 CFR Parts 30, 40, 70, 71, and 74.

Collaborating with operations, safety, engineering, and quality teams, you will ensure licensing documents remain current. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–7 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, nuclear engineering, chemistry, or business‑related disciplines.
• 2–7 years of experience in nuclear regulatory compliance, NRC licensing, DOE nuclear operations, or similar regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of NRC regulations, especially 10 CFR Parts 30, 40, 70, 71, and 74.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce clear, defensible regulatory documents.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain licensing basis documents such as the License Application, ISA Summary, SAR, Environmental Report, and Emergency Plan.
• Develop and submit license amendment requests, exemption requests, 10 CFR 70.72 evaluations, and other NRC correspondence.
• Maintain configuration control of licensing documents and regulatory commitments.
• Track regulatory changes and assess impacts on facility programs and licensing basis.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and safety teams to ensure regulatory requirements are understood and implemented.
