Job summary

Orano USA is seeking a Senior Licensing Engineer for Project IKE in Oak Ridge, TN. You will lead licensing activities, coordinate with the NRC, and manage regulatory strategy across the project lifecycle from licensing through startup.

The role requires extensive interaction with NRC, strong regulatory documentation skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while traveling between Oak Ridge and NRC Headquarters as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of nuclear licensing/regulatory experience.
• Experience interfacing with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel between Oak Ridge and NRC Headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Lead NRC License Application review and regulatory interactions.
• Coordinate NRC meetings, audits, inspections, and RAIs.
• Develop licensing strategy and regulatory commitments across project lifecycle.
• Prepare and coordinate license amendments and related technical documentation.
• Support construction, commissioning, and startup from licensing perspective.
• Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and commitment tracking.
• Mentor junior licensing engineers and coordinate cross-functional licensing activities.
