Job summary

System One is seeking a Nuclear I&C Design Engineer for a contract role in Bellevue, WA. Remote – offsite work model with 40 hours per week.

You will interface with global design teams, develop system and component specifications, apply nuclear codes and NRC regulations, and produce design documentation including SRS, SDDs, ICIDs, and P&ID packages. The position requires a 10+ year track record in I&C, familiarity with IEEE/IEC, and strong writing and leadership skills; actual title will be

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline with 10+ years of direct I&C experience.
• Experience in instrumentation and controls development and data reporting.
• Familiarity with nuclear power plant QA standards (e.g., 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1).
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary design team with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Interface with global design team members to develop design documentation.
• Develop and review system- and component-level specifications and scopes of work.
• Apply nuclear codes, licensing requirements, and NRC regulations in design.
• Create and manage P&IDs, control system diagrams, and installation drawings.
• Provide technical direction for supplier projects and reviews.
• Integrate I&C with other disciplines and support licensing activities.
• Plan and analyze design changes and their impact across interfacing systems.
