Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer - Plant Design Integration to support development and maintenance of the plant architecture for an advanced nuclear reactor project. Remote–offsite, Bellevue, WA, contract role with substantial cross‑functional responsibilities.

The candidate should possess a broad nuclear engineering background, strong NRC regulations knowledge, and the ability to lead cross‑functional technical decisions affecting plant design.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in nuclear facility design or operation.
• Experience in plant or systems engineering, design engineering, fire protection, operations, or reactor engineering.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.
• Understanding of NRC regulations and guidance; prior NRC interaction is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of Reactor Plant architecture and programs across design, analysis, licensing, and testing.
• Provide technical oversight over nuclear design and analysis efforts, applying systems engineering principles.
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines and project organizations through strong communication.
• Develop, manage, and integrate plant-level requirements and specifications.
• Research and implement design bases and strategies supporting plant design and licensing.
