Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced System Engineer to lead Mechanical Systems activities for the BWRX-300 SMR project. The role involves coordinating with site construction teams, performing design analyses, and driving technical deliverables across fabrication, procurement, and construction phases.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years in engineering, 5+ years in nuclear design, and a strong track record in system-level engineering and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear system design activities including development of process flow diagrams, thermodynamic and heat/fluid flow transfer calculations, engineering specifications, etc.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Mechanical Systems engineering activities supporting the BWRX-300 SMR system design and coordination with site construction activities.
• Responsible for analysis and design work supporting system requirements and specifications.
• Review, coordinate and manage the disposition of Field Change Notices (FCN) and Non-Conformances Reports (NCR).
• Providing technical advice and support solving site problems.
• Be a key member of the Systems Engineering leadership team and specifically responsible for all technical and engineering deliverables needed to support design of the BWRX-300 SMR.
• Liaise with customers, in partnership with engineering leadership and Project Management.
• Interface with cross-functional teams and departments necessary to complete assigned system design activities.
• Responsible for undertaking the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality noncompliance monitoring and audit programs.
