Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an undergraduate intern to support the SPL Operations group. The role provides hands-on experience in precision manufacturing and nuclear operations workflows, including incell CNC machining, robotics-assisted handling, and automated transfer processes.

You will troubleshoot equipment, support startup of new processes, and develop foundational nuclear operations skills under experienced technicians and engineers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT/OPT).
• Current resume or CV and unofficial transcripts required.
• Current class schedule and credits information requested.

Responsibilities

• Support incell CNC machining, robotics-assisted material handling, and automated transfer processes.
• Troubleshoot equipment and assist with startup of new operational processes.
• Develop foundational nuclear operations skills under guidance of experienced staff.
• Gain exposure to machining, engineering design, and manufacturing automation in a nuclear environment.
