Job summary

Symbotic seeks a highly motivated NPI Procurement Manager to join the Strategic Launch Team. You will bridge Strategic Sourcing and Sourcing Operations during development, guiding sourcing strategy and ensuring on-time delivery while supporting cost models.

The role requires collaboration with engineering, program management, and suppliers, with responsibility for risk management and strong communication across teams in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or program/project management in Automation/Robotics/MHS.

Responsibilities

• Develop program-specific sourcing plans for each NPI, retrofit, or cross-functional initiative.
• Guide the project team to the sourcing strategy and feed required sourcing information during development.
• Serve as procurement's representative on engineering and program management activities.
• Manage financial risk and opportunities across the development lifecycle, including value engineering.
• Direct PO execution with Sourcing Operations to align with strategy.
• Partner with buyers to align requirements with category strategies and supplier capacity.
• Drive AVL and preferred suppliers during design to minimize unapproved sources.
• Represent aftersales and cradle-to-grave cost considerations in development-phase sourcing decisions.
• Provide supplier quotes and should-cost data to Strategic Sourcing for cost-modeling.
• Handle multiple concurrent programs as priorities shift.
• Facilitate cross-functional communications on cost, schedule, and quality.
• Identify and escalate material risks with recommended resolutions.
• Report program procurement status to stakeholders.
• Support transition from development to steady-state Sourcing Operations.
