Job summary

Healthcare IT Leaders is seeking a JavaScript Developer with 4+ years of professional experience to build scalable backend services for healthcare referral workflows. You will design RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express, focusing on reliability and performance in a remote environment.

Responsibilities include supporting specialty recommendations, provider matching, and notifications, plus database work with PostgreSQL, Prisma, PgAdmin, and Liquibase.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Node.js and Express experience.
• Strong RESTful API design and JSON schema validation.
• PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, and optimization.
• Experience with Prisma, PgAdmin, and Liquibase.
• Proven production REST APIs experience.
• Experience implementing business rules or decision logic in backend services.
• Experience with unit and integration testing (Jest, Mocha).
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions, GitOps).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Develop APIs supporting referral decisioning workflows, including specialty recommendations, provider matching, and notifications.
• Design and optimize database schemas, indexes, and queries using PostgreSQL.
• Utilize PgAdmin, Prisma, and Liquibase for database development, schema management, and migrations.
• Implement complex business rules and decision-logic engines within backend services.
• Develop unit and integration tests using Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks.
• Follow API design best practices, including versioning and JSON schema validation.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment using GitHub Actions and GitOps.
• Support cloud-native development with Google Cloud Platform experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate healthcare workflows into reliable backend solutions.
