Job summary

Midwest Cardiovascular Institute seeks a Nocturnal Advanced Practice Provider to provide overnight cardiology coverage remotely as an essential extension of a busy practice. You will triage and manage urgent and non-urgent calls, coordinate with hospital teams, and support continuity of care for inpatients and outpatients.

Ideal candidates have cardiology or acute-care APP experience, current Illinois NP/PA licensure, and national board certification with BLS and ACLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current Illinois NP or PA license.
• Current national board certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Clinical experience in cardiology, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or critical care.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight clinical coverage through telephone and virtual communication.
• Triage and manage inpatient and outpatient cardiology calls.
• Assess clinical urgency and determine the appropriate level of care.
• Address cardiology concerns including chest pain and arrhythmias.
• Review medical records and test results to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, hospital teams, and staff.
• Elevate emergent or complex clinical situations as needed.
• Provide patient education and follow-up plans.
• Document interactions accurately in the EMR.
• Communicate overnight events to daytime care team.
