JSI invites you to join our Network Operations team as a Network Operations Engineer, focusing on operating, maintaining, and expanding FTTx networks for rural ISP partners. The role offers flexibility as fully remote or hybrid, with opportunities to influence network architecture and long-term roadmaps.

The position may be leveled as NetOps II or NetOps III based on experience; strong collaboration and problem-solving skills are essential to succeed in this mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, networking, IT, or related field.
• 3+ years of network engineering or network operations experience.
• Experience as primary technical contact with external partners or accounts.
• Ability to organize and prioritize concurrent technical work.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and OSI model.
• Vendor certifications such as JNCIS, CCNP are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and commission FTTx network infrastructure and maintain carrier-grade equipment.
• Be the primary technical contact for partner statements of work and first tier for operational requests.
• Monitor network health and performance; communicate status and propose improvements.
• Coordinate project work across team members and track progress.
• Lead Tier 3 escalation for complex issues across partner environments.
• Support after-hours critical issue response and partner communications.
• Lead cadence calls and monthly reporting with partners and vendors.
