Job summary

JSI, a leading broadband consulting firm, is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to operate, maintain, and grow FTTx networks for rural ISP partners. The role supports remote or hybrid work and focuses on reliability, process improvement, and long-term network roadmap development.

You will serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource, lead partner cadence calls, and collaborate with multiple vendors to resolve technical issues while ensuring excellent partner satisfaction and service quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, networking, information technology, or related field; equivalent combinations may be considered.
• 3+ years of relevant network engineering or network operations experience.
• Experience as primary technical contact and managing ongoing partner relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to independently organize and prioritize concurrent technical tasks.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and the OSI model.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and commission FTTx network infrastructure and configure carrier-grade equipment from multiple manufacturers.
• Serve as primary technical contact for partner Statements of Work and handle day-to-day operations and incidents.
• Monitor partner network health and performance, recommend operational improvements.
• Coordinate project work across team members and track progress.
• Execute maintenance activities and equipment upgrades according to defined procedures.
• Assist with partner onboarding by conducting technical audits and remediation recommendations.
