Job summary

JSI invites you to join our Network Operations Engineering team as a Network Operations Engineer, focusing on rural broadband initiatives and network reliability. The role supports FTTH deployments and ongoing operations for partner networks.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with remote options and a path to NetOps II/III levels, reporting to the Network Operations Engineering department. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, networking or IT.
• 3+ years in network engineering or operations.
• Primary technical contact with external partners.
• Strong networking fundamentals and OSI knowledge.
• Hands-on with Ethernet, GPON, XGS-PON, VLAN, LAG, VRF.
• Experience with Junos OS or IOS and network monitoring tools.
• Certifications (JNCIS, CCNP) and Linux certs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, install and commission FTTx infrastructure and gear.
• Act as primary technical contact for partner SOWs and requests.
• Monitor partner network health and drive improvements.
• Coordinate cross-team project tasks and status updates.
• Execute maintenance activities and firmware updates.
• Support partner onboarding with data collection and remediation.
• Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 and coordinate fixes.
• Participate in after-hours support for critical issues.
