Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team building and operating large-scale backbone and cloud connectivity for hybrid infrastructure. You will optimize and evolve our backbone for scale, drive the technical roadmap and collaborate across partners to meet evolving service needs.

You will manage an experienced team, drive automation and tooling, and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, with strong emphasis on security, efficiency and innovation in a fast-moving AI-enabled

Qualifications

• 7+ years operating multi-vendor backbone, data center and cloud networks.
• Proven track record leading global engineering teams.
• Expert in DWDM, ROADM, MP-BGP, MPLS, RSVP, Segment Routing, IS-IS, QoS, MACsec.
• Experience with optical networks, core backbone routing, DDoS mitigation and edge services.
• Experience scripting with Bash/Python or automation with Ansible, Terraform, Chef.
• Experience in regulated environments (FedRAMP, CJIS) and security compliance.
• Experience with network simulation/ testing tools and automation to reduce toil.
• Proven use of AI to enhance network decision-making and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead network engineering team and drive initiatives to scale IP/Optical backbone.
• Define technical roadmap, cloud connectivity strategy, and budget.
• Collaborate with internal partners to evolve backbone architecture for evolving service needs.
• Engage with external vendors regarding roadmaps and designs; lead post-mortems.
• Drive operational excellence and best practices for scaling infrastructure.
• Develop backbone automation strategies and tooling; enable cross-hybrid cloud consistency.
• Lead development, testing and integration of new hardware/software platforms.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations.
