Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an engineering manager to lead the Network Engineering team and scale our IP and Optical backbone, plus cloud connectivity for hybrid infrastructure. You will own technical roadmaps, drive budget decisions and collaborate with internal partners to meet evolving service requirements.

You will mentor a global team, implement automation, develop tooling for multi-cloud consistency, and guide the deployment of new hardware and software platforms while participating in on-call

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience operating multi-vendor IP and Optical backbone, data center and public cloud networks
• Proven track record of managing global engineering teams
• Expert in backbone networking technologies and protocols (DWDM, ROADM, MP-BGP, MPLS, RSVP, SR, IS-IS, QoS, MACsec)
• Experience with optical networks, core backbone routing and edge services
• Scripting and automation experience (bash, python; Ansible/Chef/Terraform)
• Experience in regulated environments (FedRAMP or equivalent) and CJIS clearance eligibility
• Experience using AI to improve decision-making and workflows

Responsibilities

• Lead network engineering team and drive initiatives to scale IP and Optical backbone while maintaining consistency and stability
• Drive technical roadmaps, cloud connectivity strategy and budget
• Collaborate with internal service partners and advance network architecture to meet evolving requirements
• Engage with external vendors for roadmap alignment and post-mortem discussions
• Drive operational excellence and best practices in operating and scaling infrastructure
• Develop backbone network automation strategy and tooling
• Develop tools for multi-hybrid-cloud consistency
• Oversee development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations
