Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Discovery Lead to join the Defense Enclave Services team, overseeing a group of network engineers and analysts performing discovery and developing detailed migration plans for DAFA networks to the DoDNet environment.

The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance and IAT Level II certification, with responsibility for mentoring, architecture design, and process improvements across multiple agencies and workstreams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience (or Master's with 10+ years).
• Experience managing teams of engineers with mentoring and cross-team collaboration.
• Experience documenting designs with drawing tools (Visio, Powerpoint, Gliffy, Cameo, MagicDraw).
• Experience migrating circuits, network traffic, services, apps, or data between environments or to cloud.
• Significant experience upgrading and LCR of network devices.
• Expertise with LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Proxies, Routing (L2/L3), and Firewalls.
• Experience with two or more of Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dell, Infoblox, Brocade, Fortinet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active IAT Level II (Security+ or CISSP) certification and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple teams to perform physical and virtual discovery and develop migration plans for DoDNet.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with Network Engineering Lead and PMs for alignment and growth.
• Seek process improvements to accelerate discovery, analysis, and planning.
• Design secure network solutions to consolidate or migrate connectivity services under an enterprise service.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop standards-based designs from legacy environments.
• Create secure WAAS designs including underlay/overlay/COI transport to meet performance and security needs.
• Develop secure access solutions using wired/wireless technologies and transition plans.
• Incorporate capacity planning and scaling of network/security stacks into overall designs.
• Investigate network optimization strategies to meet capacity and performance metrics.
• Identify legacy service paths and craft to-be designs balancing security and maintainability.
• Support IP addressing schemes across IPv4/IPv6 and DoD accreditation artifacts.
• Serve as lead architect for agencies supported during migrations.
• Improve discovery/planning processes, including RFIs, EIPs, diagrams, and IP schemas.
• Mentor engineers and support migration prep and execution.
