Job summary

The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) seeks a Network Administrator to join the IS-Servers team with a remote position requiring residence within 45 minutes of downtown Dallas, TX. The role supports the Information Services Division in a full-time capacity.

Responsibilities include planning and maintaining state networks, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring security compliance. A BS in CS or related field with relevant networking experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; 4+ years of Network Operations experience, or 10+ years of Networking Infrastructure administration.
• HPE Juniper proficiency and expertise preferred.
• Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and implements wireless, telephone, data or other telecommunications or information technology programs and networks for the state.
• Provides data/voice network services; maintains networks and systems; performs preventive maintenance; evaluates performance and resolves issues.
• Installs, tests, and modifies data networks, voice networks, wireless networks, routers, and other components; coordinates testing and changes.
• Confers with agency users and partners to determine requirements; coordinates with staff, contractors, and vendors to implement tasks.
• Manages public safety network security compliance with State and Federal requirements.
• Researches network technologies and recommends technical solutions to improve efficiency.
• Cross trains IT staff to strengthen support.
• Other duties as assigned.
