Job summary

Koniag Data Solutions, LLC is seeking a Network Engineer to support KDS and our government customer. This role requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust and is remote, with the candidate living within 30 minutes of Mission, Texas.

You will assess existing networks, design a modernized architecture with centralized logging, IDS, monitoring, and ensure compliance with NERC-CIP, FISMA, and NIST SP 800 series. Experience with procurement, installation, testing, and documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering.
• Proven expertise in network security practices and regulatory compliance (NERC-CIP, FISMA, NIST SP 800).
• Experience conducting network assessments, requirements analysis, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with change management, testing environments, and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessment of existing networks and configurations.
• Design a modernized network architecture with centralized logging and IDS.
• Develop and implement monitoring tools to meet regulatory standards.
• Advise on procurement, installation, configuration, and testing of devices.
• Develop compliance documentation, policies, and procedures; enable knowledge transfer.
