Job summary

Capital On Tap is seeking a software engineer for a fully remote B2B contract role, working on credit card and payment products used by small businesses in the UK and US. You’ll partner with product managers, QA, and developers to own problems end to end, from code through production and monitoring.

You’ll design and build services in C#/.NET Core with SQL Server, craft responsive UI in React, and align technical decisions with customer needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, and SQL Server.
• Strong preference for JavaScript and React.
• Solid grounding in unit and integration testing practices.
• Familiarity with relational databases and broader data technologies.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and share new skills.
• Comfort owning problems end to end rather than executing pre-defined tickets.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable services using .NET and C# across the full software development lifecycle
• Develop responsive, polished user interfaces with React and modern JavaScript so products work well and feel good to use
• Collaborate closely with product managers, QA engineers, and peers to make sure technical decisions line up with customer needs
• Write and maintain thorough unit and integration tests to safeguard quality over time
• Troubleshoot, debug, and iterate on production issues as they arise
• Translate technical work into clear business outcomes for cross-functional stakeholders
