Job summary

Herdt Consulting seeks an experienced Navy ERP DDEF/UMT Error Research SME to analyze DDEF and UMT errors using Databricks and Jupyter notebooks, tracing issues through source records and ERP processing.

The role requires 6+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions. Remote/work-from-home arrangement available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Navy ERP experience researching transaction errors or reconciliation discrepancies.
• Experience investigating DDEF and/or UMT errors, including root-cause analysis.
• Using Jupiter/Databricks to explore, query, and analyze datasets.
• Interpreting financial transaction data and tracing processing or interface failures.
• Experience comparing data across source systems and ERP records to substantiate findings.

Responsibilities

• Use Jupiter/Databricks to research DDEF and UMT errors and trace error conditions through source records, data transformations, interfaces, and Navy ERP processing to identify root causes.
• Analyze incomplete, inaccurate, rejected, or unmatched transactions and isolate patterns affecting UMT error processing.
• Use queries, notebooks, and data comparisons to reconcile source information with Navy ERP records and validate findings.
• Coordinate with functional, technical, and data teams to recommend corrective actions and verify remediation outcomes.
• Document research methods, supporting evidence, recurring error trends, and resolution status for auditability and knowledge sharing.
