Placements24 is seeking a National Sales Director to lead our client's sales operations across South Africa from a remote capacity, with a focus on Welkom and other major agricultural regions. This executive role demands a strategic leader with a proven track record in building national teams, growing market share, and fostering key client relationships.

You will develop and execute national sales strategies for a broad range of agricultural chemicals, manage a national team of regional managers

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive sales experience in the agricultural sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven success in selling agricultural chemicals, crop protection products, or related agricultural inputs.
• Deep understanding of South African agricultural markets, farming practices, and distribution channels.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall national sales strategy for agricultural chemicals, aligning with company goals and market opportunities.
• Lead, manage, and inspire a national team of regional sales managers and representatives to achieve and surpass sales quotas.
• Establish and cultivate strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and agricultural stakeholders across the country.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and potential threats.
• Set national sales targets, develop pricing strategies, and manage the sales budget effectively.
• Oversee the distribution network and ensure efficient product placement and availability in all key agricultural regions.
• Collaborate closely with the marketing, product development, and R&D teams to ensure product-market fit and effective promotional campaigns.
• Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
• Champion a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales organization.
• Represent the company at major agricultural conferences, trade shows, and industry forums.
