Job summary

The American Heart Association, Inc. is seeking a National Director, Program Development in Health Science on a full-time, benefits-eligible, grant-funded basis.

This role guides multiple funded initiatives, leads teams of consultants and coordinators, and collaborates with senior leaders on program design and dissemination strategies. Responsibilities include budgeting, timelines, stakeholder engagement, and reporting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Nonprofit Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience in healthcare programs or project management.
• 3 years of direct people leadership experience.
• Experience with grant proposal development and program design.
• Strong communication and relationship leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of funded initiatives by supervising planning, execution, and evaluation.
• Lead teams of program consultants, managers, and coordinators to ensure milestones are met.
• Contribute to proposal development on program design, timelines, and budgets.
• Supervise budgets and contracts with strategic guidance on expenditures.
• Facilitate cross-department communication with partners and funders.
• Ensure timely reporting of outcomes and key findings.
• Provide training and coaching on projects in the portfolio.
