Job summary

Placements24 seeks a strategic, senior leader to spearhead nationwide community engagement initiatives for a social impact org. This fully remote role focuses on connecting diverse South African communities, designing programs, and driving measurable impact.

You will lead a remote team, build partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and corporate stakeholders, and oversee program design, budgeting, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in community engagement or related leadership roles.
• Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale community engagement strategies.
• Experience building and managing strategic partnerships.
• Strong leadership and remote-team management experience.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data analysis, impact measurement, and reporting.
• Experience with digital engagement tools and online community building.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work remotely.
• Deep understanding of social issues and development challenges in the South African context.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a national community engagement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead and mentor a team of remote community outreach specialists.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with community leaders, NGOs, government bodies, and corporate stakeholders.
• Design and oversee the execution of community programs and campaigns using digital and traditional channels.
• Analyze community needs and trends to inform program development and resource allocation.
• Develop and manage budgets for community engagement activities.
• Create communication materials and reports for stakeholders and donors.
• Measure and report on impact and effectiveness using data analytics.
• Represent the organization at virtual and in-person forums and events.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among engagement teams and partners.
