Job summary

Insurance Office of America (IOA) is seeking a National Analytic Consultant - Employee Benefits to lead analytics across the benefits business. You will collect, analyze, interpret underwriting, claims, financial and benefits data and deliver insights for client decisions and renewals.

You will collaborate with Senior Analytic Consultants, Producers, Account Teams and carriers to develop reports, dashboards and financial exhibits while advancing methodologies and BI tools across the group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of underwriting, manual rating methodologies, funding arrangements, healthcare pricing tools, and financial risk assessment principles.
  • Understanding of experience rating, claim cost projections, and data-driven financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and consultative solution-development skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analytics & Interpretation: Gather, analyze, and interpret underwriting, claims, financial, and benefits data to support client strategy and decision-making.
  • Underwriting Support: Evaluate underwriting data and develop recommendations to support carrier pricing, negotiations, and funding analyses.
  • Client Consulting: Deliver data-driven insights that help clients understand risks, trends, opportunities, and program performance.
  • Sales Support: Partner with Producers and Benefits teams by providing analytical support for renewals, presentations, prospecting, and business development initiatives.
  • Reporting & Presentation Development: Create reports, dashboards, financial exhibits, and presentations that communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Analytics Process Management: Develop and maintain analytics methodologies, reporting standards, and best practices to improve consistency and results.
  • Technology Optimization: Utilize and evaluate analytics, reporting, and business intelligence tools to enhance client outcomes and operational effectiveness.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze trends, benchmarking data, and financial metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and improved performance.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, analytical capabilities, and service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Senior Analytic Consultants, Producers, Account Teams, carriers, and internal stakeholders to support client objectives.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding analytical findings, recommendations, and client activities.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Provide analytical guidance and support team development through knowledge sharing and subject matter expertise.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain knowledge of underwriting methodologies, funding arrangements, analytics tools, market trends, and industry best practices.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and established analytical procedures.
  • Champion IOA Values: Demonstrate integrity, leadership, accountability, and professionalism in all interactions.
