Chicago-based media group with major-network affiliations seeks versatile Multimedia Journalists to fuel the launch and growth of streaming channels on iHeart Radio, plus web and social channels. You will craft audio-focused stories under tight timelines and support multiple news, business, and sports streams.

Candidates should have solid audio production, strong writing, and social media skills, with willingness to work from home and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Audio production experience is required.
• Strong writing ability for audio, web, and social formats.
• Solid social media skills and timely posting practices.
• Ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
• Experience covering news and/or sports preferred; quick learning.

Responsibilities

• Produce audio-first voice stories with clear structure and pacing.
• Write accurate, compelling scripts for radio, web and social.
• Gather and verify information from reliable sources; update breaking news.
• Create multimedia content for web and social channels; adapt tone per platform.
• Manage daily workflows to meet story volume and reach minimums.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to pitch and finalize angles.
• Maintain high standards for grammar, accuracy, and audience relevance.
• Use audio tools to edit, mix, and prepare final segments.
• Support on-air elements, including reading scripts and updates.
• Promote content on social and engage with audiences promptly.
• Track performance and adjust strategy to improve reach.
