iHeartMedia is seeking a News Reporter in Phoenix to anchor and report across multiple markets. You’ll write, edit and deliver clear news copy and produce short-form reports for the 24/7 Newswire. Gather audio from events and post content to newsroom social media platforms.

You’ll need strong on-air presence, social media skills and the ability to work nights, holidays and weekends in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station.
• 4-year college degree preferred; Communications or Journalism degree a plus.

What We Need:

We’re seeking a News Reporter. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your experience in a fast-paced environment and continue growing your skill

What You’ll Do:

Anchor newscasts for multiple markets. Write clear, concise news copy. Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire. Post news and video content to newsroom social media platforms. Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations. Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift. May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed. General newsroom responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

Self-motivated to find stories as a reporter and also anchor newscasts for multiple markets. Strong social media skills including email, writing/posting for Facebook, X (Twitter) and Instagram. Must be willing to work nights, holidays, and weekends. Strong on-air presence and ability to present newscasts with authority. Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar. Strong time management skills; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines. Knowledgeable and up to date with local, regional, and national trends. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proficient in media production (primarily audio) and broadcast systems. 3+ years’ experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station. 4-year college degree preferred, Communications or Journalism degree a plus.
