Qualifications

• AHIMA and/or AAPC professional coder certification (CPC-A, RHIT, RHIA, etc.) required to be maintained annually.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience.
• 2+ years of experience with multi-specialty surgical coding.

Responsibilities

• Assigns diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and guidelines.
• Applies CPT and ICD-10 codes to nephrology services.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely coding and billing.
• Generates coding queries to clarify physician documentation.
• Keeps up-to-date with coding changes and updates.
