Job summary

Sun Outdoors Carolina Pines is seeking an Area Director of Finance to oversee finance operations and reporting across multiple properties in a remote environment. You will partner with Finance, Operations, leadership, and Corporate Finance to ensure accurate, timely reporting and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a remote accounting team across multiple properties.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and integrity in financial reporting.
• Proven ability to manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the Finance team, including Accounting Managers and Staff Accountants, through training and performance management.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close across properties, including reconciliations and reporting deadlines.
• Review ledger reconciliations and financial statements for accuracy; investigate variances and coordinate resolutions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across properties with P&L reviews and variance analysis.
• Assist the Director of Finance with cash controls, internal audits, and monthly reporting.
• Review tax support, utility accruals, inventory records, and cash receipts for compliance.
• Maintain internal controls and audit readiness; ensure documentation per policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy across properties.
• Partner with operations and corporate teams to resolve accounting matters and support timely reporting.
• Provide hands-on support during close and assist with special projects.
• Review payroll records and payroll-related activity as needed.
