Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Physicist to lead CT and MRI protocol development, advise imaging leadership, and oversee radiation safety programs across a large health system. This home-based role emphasizes collaboration with vendors, ongoing professional development, and contributions to safety and quality improvement.

You will provide regular reports to the Director of Radiation Safety, participate in RPC/RSC meetings, and support accreditation efforts with ACR as needed.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required.
• PhD preferred for advanced research opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray registrations and RAM licenses (TX).
• Develops radiation safety policies and procedures to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations for diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Performs dosimetry calculations and shielding assessments to meet regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates shielding evaluations and system performance requirements with vendors and architects.
