Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a Master of Science (PhD preferred) in Physics or related fields, a Texas medical physics license, and board certification eligibility.

Qualifications

• Clinical post-graduate experience preferred.
• Four years of related experience preferred.
• Member of the American Association of Physicist in Medicine or other equivalent professional society.
• Eligible to be Radiation Safety Officer for RAM licenses and X-ray registrations as defined by Texas TAC.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for RAM licenses and X-ray registrations.
• Develops and evaluates radiation safety policies, procedures and practices.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations for imaging equipment.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with architects to optimize spaces with ALARA principles.
• Participates in RPC/RSC meetings and supports ACR accreditation.
