Job summary

Direct Mortgage Loans is seeking a Director of Mortgage Technology to lead the technology roadmap and build a proactive, scalable mortgage tech function. The role combines strategy, hands-on leadership, and cross-department collaboration to advance our mortgage technology capabilities.

The ideal candidate will own Encompass configurations, workflows, and integrations, while balancing production support with strategic initiatives and cost-effective technology choices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mortgage technology or related financial-services tech experience.
• Experience leading a technology team with performance management and development.
• Strong knowledge of Encompass administration, configuration, workflows, reporting, and integrations.
• Experience managing technology implementations, upgrades, and vendor relationships.
• Excellent executive communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a technology roadmap aligned with mortgage production and compliance needs.
• Lead and develop the Technology team, including hiring, training, and succession planning.
• Own Encompass configuration, workflows, business rules, reports, and data quality.
• Establish intake, prioritization, and change management processes for tech requests.
• Balance day-to-day production support with long-term system improvements.
• Evaluate new technology, upgrades, and vendor integrations with clear recommendations.
