Job summary

Universal Lending Corporation seeks a Loan Processor to review, verify, and prepare loan files for underwriting and closing. The role serves as the communication hub among loan officers, builders, real estate partners, and customers to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the mortgage process.

Responsibilities include ordering appraisals and verifications, confirming data compliance with guidelines, and maintaining an accurate pipeline.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 Years mortgage banking experience as a processor or junior processor.
• Working knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and FHA/VA policies and guidelines, and Regulatory Mortgage Compliance.
• Working knowledge of Encompass or other LOS systems.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn other mortgage-related programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with others both internal and external.
• Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability.
• Ability to work overtime, when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, verifies, and prepares complete loan files for Underwriting and Closing.
• Acts as central point of communication between loan officers, assistants, builders, real estate partners, and customers.
• Orders appraisals, title, survey, verifications, and other items required for loan approval; follows up with outside sources.
• Verifies data, analyzes, and ensures compliance with underwriting, investor, RESPA, and HMDA guidelines.
• Calculates income and reviews assets and liabilities.
• Reviews disclosures for completeness and compliance.
• Completes final evaluation and submits eligible files with conditions.
• Monitors rate lock information and communicates discrepancies to the Loan Officer.
• Maintains accurate pipeline, projections, and closing dates.
• May prepare Adverse Action letters and explains reasons if applicants do not qualify.
• May schedule closing appointments with all parties and ensures customer service standards.
• Keeps loan officers, assistants, Realtors, builders, and customers updated on loan status.
• Maintains ongoing communication with customers throughout the loan process.
