Job summary

First Community Mortgage in Salado, TX is seeking a results-driven Loan Originator to generate high-quality mortgage loans within FCMC guidelines. You will build relationships with local real estate agents and builders while managing a defined territory.

This full-time role requires knowledge of VA, FHA, and conventional programs, proficiency with Encompass and AUS tools, and the ability to work from a home office with minimal supervision. Travel to meet clients is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2+ years of recent in-person mortgage origination experience.
• Commission-based origination experience.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional loan programs.
• Knowledge of LP, DU and AUS.
• Experience with Ellie Mae mortgage originating software.
• Self-motivated, able to work from home office with limited supervision.
• Ability to review credit reports.
• Organize and prioritize tasks.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Pass background investigation.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality loans meeting FCMC guidelines.
• Develop business relationships with local real estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory and train employees on mortgage basics.
• Develop contacts with Banks partner store management team.
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit.
• Conduct presentations (First Time Home Buyer seminars, realtor meetings, product training).
• Communicate with borrowers and real estate agents throughout the loan process.
• Issue and explain pre-qualification letters, disclosures and all initial compliance docs.
• May serve as general office manager with duties like correspondence and staff schedules.
• May act as liaison between locations and corporate management.
• Travel as needed.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.
