Job summary

Fifth Third Bank seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator to manage residential loan applications from referral sources through closing. You will develop referral networks, maintain product knowledge, and ensure timely processing while upholding risk and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Proven computer skills and basic sales technique.

Responsibilities

• Develop referral contacts with realtors, builders, and professional/personal networks.
• Maintain knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage policies, procedures and products.
• Manage mortgage loan pipeline from application to closing.
• Take applications using Fannie Mae Form 1003 and transmit loan to processing system.
• Provide timely updates and progress reports to branches and applicants.
