Job summary

Fifth Third is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator for a virtual Houston-area role. You will originate residential loans, manage the loan lifecycle from application to closing, and develop referral networks with realtors and builders while adhering to lending guidelines and bank policies.

The position emphasizes risk awareness, customer service, and teamwork, with compensation largely incentive-based and combined with a base salary or draw. Training and benefits are provided by the bank.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts).
• Maintain knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage Company's policies and procedures.
• Take applicant applications by completing form 1003.
• Manage pipeline for all originated loans through closing and complete required management reports.
• Communicate with branches and applicants with timely updates and progress reports.
