Job summary

The Outside Sales Mortgage Loan Originator at ChoiceOne Bank is responsible for generating residential mortgage loan business through proactive field sales, meeting clients at their homes or workplaces, and guiding them through the loan process while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will build relationships, solicit applications, review financial documentation, and coordinate closings, with emphasis on exceptional service, in-person consultations, and adherence to bank policies and BSA/USA

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the lending function.
• Bachelor's degree in business-related major preferred.
• Five to seven years of progressively more responsible lending experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with prospective borrowers through networking, referrals, and community engagement.
• Actively solicit mortgage loan applications by meeting clients at their homes, workplaces, or other locations outside the employer's office.
• Explain mortgage products, terms, and conditions during in-person meetings tailored to client needs.
• Collect and review financial documentation, including income, employment history, assets, and credit reports.
