Job summary

Connexus Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Lending Officer to guide members through residential financing from initial inquiry to closing. This remote role emphasizes responsiveness, accurate documentation, and collaborative work with processors, underwriters, and partners to deliver exceptional member experiences.

The candidate will educate members on loan options, collect documentation, and underwrite within authority while maintaining regulatory compliance and strong customer service

Qualifications

• Remote position with set schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm CST.
• Associate degree in business, finance, banking, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year mortgage lending experience within a financial institution.
• Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Identifier required.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to inbound mortgage inquiries by phone, email, or online channels.
• Conduct thorough interviews to understand home financing needs and goals.
• Educate members on mortgage products, terms, and costs to aid decision-making.
• Recommend appropriate mortgage solutions based on member needs and programs.
• Initiate and manage the mortgage application process from inquiry to closing.
• Underwrite and approve mortgage applications within lending authority and guidelines.
• Coordinate with processors, analysts, and partners to ensure smooth closings.
• Maintain ownership of the member relationship and provide timely status updates.
