Job summary

Percona seeks a MongoDB Engineer to join our remote-first, globally distributed team. You will deliver premier technical support for MongoDB, tackle complex deployments, and help shape our open source strategy and content.

You will mentor peers, blog, collaborate across departments, and influence product direction while communicating with customers in English and traveling occasionally for meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of both RDBMS and MongoDB, including configuration and best practices.
• Schema design, performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning.
• Backup solutions and replica set/sharding topologies.
• Linux administration experience.
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Azure).
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically and think outside the box to resolve complex issues.
• Willingness to travel for occasional team meetings and customer visits.
• Experience working with customers in English.
• MongoDB University courses completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline technical support for MongoDB, resolving complex issues for demanding deployments.
• Mentor fellow engineers, contribute to blogging and support content creation, and collaborate with other departments.
• Support product strategy by sharing insights from customer experiences and field issues.
