NC State University seeks two temporary student interns to work remotely on a project with the NC Institute for Climate Studies and NOAA collaborators. The role focuses on applying machine learning to analyze environmental observations and satellite data to understand extreme event impacts in the southeastern U.S.

You will learn state-of-the-art ML models, collaborate with other interns, and develop data analytics skills while contributing to a timely research project.

Qualifications

• Direct experience with applied machine learning and/or large language models (LLM).
• Experience performing statistical analyses.
• Experience working with environmental data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
• The ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
• The ability to work independently as well as make positive team contributions.

Responsabilités

• Work remotely on a new NCICS project with NCICS scientists and NOAA collaborators.
• Apply machine learning techniques to analyze environmental observations and satellite data.
• Learn state-of-the-art ML models and tools with other interns.
• Collaborate with interns to complete project milestones.
